Disarmament and International Security Committee

The General Assembly First Committee (GA1) in Model United Nations (MUN) is dedicated to addressing disarmament and international security, with a particular focus on the relationship between disarmament and development. GA1 explores the critical role of science and technology in promoting global security and maintaining international peace, fostering a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between these factors. In this committee, delegates engage in thoughtful debate and collaborative decision-making, working towards resolutions that balance the need for security with the pursuit of sustainable development.

Anshuman Mishra is currently pursuing a science education. He is an enthusiastic debater who embarked on his MUN journey. Since the inception of his journey, he has notably participated in and successfully contributed to over 30 MUN conferences. Mr. Mishra possesses a communicative and growth-oriented personality, approaching his endeavours with unwavering passion and dedication.

Hey, l'm Siddharth Menon, a 15-year-old MUN enthusiast from Dubai's Emirates International School Jumeirah. I've participated in many MUN conferences over the past year, online and irl. I thoroughly enjoy chairing, and my goal for a committee is to create an engaging experience to make sure delegates enjoy, and I look forward to bringing my style of chairing to AviMUN!

Jyotishman Gogoi, an 8th grader rising from the northeast, is a young MUN buddy who loves to make friends. He has more than 25+ muns under his belt. He is an extroverted chair who loves English and Hindi dialogues. He is also working for a news company as a part-time journalist and hates the sentence "more experienced than me"
